What is the most important tool of your trade, and why?

Trace paper is my best friend! Whether I am casting vision at the beginning of a project or need to find a creative design solution, I love turning off technology and spending time sketching. It doesn’t feel as concrete to me, so there is space to get out of my head and experiment with fresh ideas.

How do you put a client’s goals before your own in a project?

One of the most valuable ways to prioritize our client’s goals is learning to listen well and ask good questions. It requires designers who are humble, willing to serve, and dedicated to seeing functional, beautiful spaces come to life.

Describe the moment you realized interior design was for you.

During my senior year of high school, my dad asked me to write down the top three things I loved, even if they didn’t seem career related. The things that (still!) fill me with life are opportunities to create, serve others well, and continually learn new skills. I knew immediately that pursuing interior design would allow me to do all those things every day, and I haven’t looked back!
