With over 30 years of experience in the AEC industry, Ron has experienced all sides of the project team table. His past as owner, the constructor and now again as the designer allows him to see projects from a truly unique perspective. This perspective helps to bring the team together in a more cohesive and understanding process to better serve all parties and facilitate team consensus for the most successful project outcomes.
While specializing in Healthcare for most of his career, he also has experience in Boathouses, Higher Education, Residential and Historic Preservation.
When not designing Ron enjoys spending time with his family, fixing his historic home or playing golf.
What is the most important tool of your trade, and why?
I think the most important tool for me is the ability to listen and interpret. Often times a client is describing their project need but is not able to draw it. The ability to listen, fill in the holes, and then express it back to them through a drawing or 3D Visualization. This is a very powerful tool to win over a client. At that point they know you understand them and their market.
What inspires you most about your field?
Although it took me a few years to migrate to Healthcare, as I began to comprehend potential implications more and more, I really began to understand how the design could affect the healing environment. Great spaces help not only for the patient but can help the Healthcare staff provide better care to the patient.
