Originally from Isabela, Puerto Rico—Javier attended the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico’s Ponce School of Architecture. There, he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with minors in both Landscaping and Environmental Design and English Composition.

Inspired by the beauty and fragility of the natural world; Javier is passionate about the ways in which architecture and interior design can accentuate, preserve, and respect it. He is highly interested in sustainability efforts and looks forward to a lifelong pursuit of innovation in this realm.

Currently focused on Hospitality, Retail, and Academic markets, Javier is always trying to find ways to increase efficiencies and preserve resources. He’s always looking to bring the outside, in.

What is the most important tool of your trade, and why?

The Internet. It grants me all the knowledge I need. Even when you think you know everything there is to know on a topic, you don’t. Any resource available to you should be used to ensure you are approaching every challenge fully prepared.

Describe your dream project.

I am looking forward to designing a beach house with an earthquake and tsunami bunker. Using the natural world that surrounds the property to heat, cool, and protect it—naturally.

What inspires you most about your field?

Architecture and interior design are always evolving. There are always new trends to follow, new programs to learn, and new technology to incorporate. I am inspired to stay ahead of the pack, and hope to one day be remembered as an innovator in my field.
