Describe your dream project.
My dream project is an adaptive reuse building, preserving portions of the original work and transforming it into a place where people can enjoy the space again. This is similar to my master thesis, where I designed a quarry into a music venue, transforming the man-made void into an entertainment space so people can make memories and embrace the industrial setting.
What inspires you most about your field?
As designers, we create everyday spaces that evoke emotion. We are responsible for bringing these spaces to life and being part of the entire process, from design to bidding to construction. This diversity showcases the many roles we play in our fulfilling careers, which has changed my perspective on how I look at the world, giving me a greater appreciation for even the smallest details. It’s also inspiring to know that there’s always something new to learn in this field, whether it’s about construction, engineering, or design. This includes learning about other design styles, history, or sustainability; architecture has many aspects to it!
Describe the moment you realized architecture was for you.
I discovered my passion for architecture when envisioning myself designing for future generations. This profession allows me to impact society and play a vital role in enhancing everyday life by creating spaces that evoke emotions and become part of people’s daily lives. I am drawn to designing schools for students, healthcare facilities, recreational spaces, and much more.
